Man denies child sex assault charges

A 63-year-old man has denied two counts of sexual assault on a child.

Magistrates’ Court heard that the assaults were alleged to have happened to a girl aged under 14 between December 23, 2018 and December 23, 2019 in St George’s.

The defendant, who appeared on Monday, and the alleged victim cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until December 6 and released the man, from St George’s, on $3,000 bail.

She ordered the defendant to have no contact with the alleged victim or potential witnesses.
