Drinking and boating costs man $900

A man was fined $900 yesterday after he admitted being in charge of a boat while impaired.

Mark Riihiluoma, 50, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to the offence, which happened on October 29 last year near Darrell’s Wharf in Warwick.

The amount of alcohol in his blood was not disclosed.

Riihiluoma, from Warwick, apologised and promised that he would not reoffend.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered him to pay the fine by the end of the day.
