Retrial for 20-year-old after jury fails to reach a verdict

A 20-year-old man faces a retrial for aggravated burglary after a Supreme Court jury failed to reach a verdict.

Zywonde Lema, of Warwick, pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary, alleged to have happened on November 13, 2020.

His trial, which started on August 16, was expected to conclude on Tuesday – but the jury was unable to make a decision.

Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe discharged the jury and adjourned the case until October 3 for another trail date to be set.
