Teenager pleads guilty to causing GBH by driving without due care

A teenager has pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm by driving his car without due care and attention.

John Doran, 19, from Devonshire, admitted the offence and injuring David Goonewardene when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until Friday, November 18, for sentencing. She extended Doran’s $3,000 bail until that time.

The incident occurred on Knapton Hill, Smith’s, on March 29, 2021.
