First Prev 1 2 Next Last

A man has denied all charges related to a pub shooting last year in which two people were killed.

Syhon Akinstall, 20, pleaded not guilty yesterday to the murders of Ayinde Eve, 27, and Micah Davis, 22, in Pembroke.

He also pleaded not guilty to the attempted murders of Derrick Golding, a police sergeant, and Troy Eve Burgess, as well as four counts of the use of a firearm during an indictable offence, namely the alleged murders and alleged attempted murders.

The charges are tied to a shooting at the Robin Hood Pub and Restaurant on October 26 last year.

Mr Akinstall’s co-accused, Quiana Butterfield, 26, who is charged with the murders of Mr Eve and Mr Davis and the attempted murders of Mr Golding and Mr Burgess, has not yet entered a plea.

Puisne Judge Larry Mussenden adjourned the pair’s case until February 1 and remanded them in custody.

In a separate case, Antoine Anderson, 44, pleaded guilty to an escape of lawful custody on August 8.

The escape from the Co-Educational Facility near Ferry Reach in St George’s led to a nine-hour manhunt.

Mr Justice Mussenden remanded Anderson in custody. A sentencing date will be made administratively.
