Man denies possessing $60,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis

A Pembroke man has pleaded not guilty to possessing more than $60,000 worth of drugs.

Maxwell Smith, 50, denied possessing cocaine, a substance containing THC and cannabis resin, as well as possessing and cultivating cannabis when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

Mr Smith was also denied money laundering charges in relation to having almost $40,000 in cash.

He chose to have his case heard in Magistrates’ Court and told magistrate Tyrone Chin that he intended to represent himself.

Mr Chin adjourned the case to November 28 and released Mr Smith on $8,000 bail until then.

Mr Smith was also ordered to surrender all travel documents.
