A drink-driver who admitted having “one beer” before he was involved in a three-car collision has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Cole Durham, 28, from Warwick, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Alan Richards, for the Crown, told the court that officers attended a three-vehicle collision in March last year on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction of Cobb’s Hill Road.

When speaking to Durham, who was involved in the accident, officers noticed that he was unsteady on his feet and that his breath smelt of alcohol.

Durham admitted to having “one beer” before getting behind the wheel.

In addition to the ban, Durham was fined $1,200.
