Man charged with threatening Premier

A Sandys man has denied threatening David Burt for a third time.

Jared Gordon, 33, pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mr Gordon had already spent time in prison for threatening the Premier in a series of e-mails written in 2017 and 2018. He allegedly threatened Mr Burt again in July 2020 via social media.

Mr Gordon allegedly sent the Premier more alarming and indecent messages via “a public telecommunications service” between September and October this year, the court heard.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo adjourned the case to November 28 for mention and released Mr Gordon on $2,500 bail until that time.

Mr Gordon was also ordered not to contact the Premier.
