A 71-year-old man was yesterday charged with causing grievous bodily harm by drink-driving.

Henry Darrell, of Sandys, was charged in Magistrates’ Court, but was not required to enter a plea since the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Mr Darrell allegedly injured Ronald Tankard with his car on the Railway Trail in Sandys on May 3.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the Supreme Court, where it will be mentioned during the arraignment session in January next year.

Mr Darrell was released on $5,000 bail until that time.
