A 39-year-old man appeared in the Supreme Court today to deny involvement in a murder case from nearly seven years ago.

Davin Providence, from Sandys, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Jevon Daniels on a date unknown between May 13 and June 17, 2016.

The body of Mr Daniels, 35, was discovered in an area of bushes adjoining Ireland Rangers Field on Ireland Island, Sandys, several weeks after he had been declared missing.

Mr Providence was charged in June 2021 in connection with Mr Daniels’s death but was not initially required to enter a plea.

Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe set a court date for a mention on the April 3 arraignments session.

Mr Providence’s bail was extended.
