Woman fined and banned from roads for driving under the influence of alcohol

Magistrates' Court

A woman who struck a wall with her car has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Jahmae Williams, 30, from Pembroke, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that police attended the scene of the crash, which occurred at the junction of South Road and Cobb’s Hill Road in Paget, on January 28.

The car had gone up on the sidewalk and had its airbags deployed.

When speaking with Williams, who admitted to being the driver, officers noticed that her speech was slurred and smelt alcohol on her breath.

In addition to the ban, Williams was fined $1,200.
