Woman banned from driving after refusing breath test

A woman who refused to take a breath test was ordered to continue participating in a court treatment programme.

Jebrie Hill, 35, from Warwick, pleaded guilty to the offence when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court last week.

The court heard that on February 16, police followed Hill in her car because she did not stop at a stop sign on Parliament Street.

Officers spoke with her once she pulled into a parking lot on Parson’s Road and smelt alcohol on her breath.

Hill was then taken to Hamilton Police Station and declined to take a breathalyser test several times.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo banned Hill, who is already enrolled in DUI court, from driving all vehicles until further notice and adjourned her case to the next session.
