Man denies possession of blank rounds

Magistrates' Court

A St George’s man appeared in court yesterday and denied having blank ammunition without a licence.

Noel Van Putten, 29, pleaded not guilty to owning two blank rounds, intended for a 5.56mm-by-47mm calibre gun, in September 2022, and chose to have his case heard in Magistrates’ Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to April 24 and released Van Putten on $5,000 bail until that time.
