Man charged with threatening Supreme Court jurors

A man who allegedly threatened jurors during a trial appeared in Magistrates’ Court this week.

Perry Smith, 60, was charged with threatening three Supreme Court jurors and waving a metal pipe in front of another.

Smith, from Sandys, denied all offences, which allegedly occurred on Tuesday and resulted in the trial being dismissed.

Smith chose to have his case heard in Magistrates’ Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to May 29 and released Smith on $25,000 bail.

He was also ordered to not contact any case witnesses or the Director of Public Prosecutions.
