Woman ordered to attend DUI Court for drink-driving

A woman who was stopped by police in Hamilton Parish has been ordered to take part in a drink-drivers’ court treatment programme.

Edeliah Chew, 43, from St George’s, admitted to driving while impaired by alcohol when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that on February 27 officers doing sobriety checks stopped Chew in her car on North Shore Road.

Chew failed breath tests both at the scene and at Hamilton Police Station.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin ordered that she participate in DUI Court beginning on June 27 and released her on $1,500 bail until that time.

Chew was also disqualified from driving all vehicles until further notice.
