Man changed with importing a controlled drug

A man has been charged with conspiring to bring a controlled drug on to the island.

Kanhai Fray, 36, from Southampton, was also charged with having cannabis with the intent to supply in St George’s on August 28, 2018, Magistrates’ Court heard this week.

Prosecutor Nicole Smith said Mr Fray was living in Britain but was brought back to the island to answer to the charge.

However, he was not required to enter a plea during his appearance, because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the August arraignment sessions and remanded Mr Fray into custody until that time.
