Man admits violently resisting arrest

A man who damaged a police officer’s body camera has been ordered to participate in a mental health treatment programme.

Delmari Scott, 40, admitted shouting and swearing at officers and resisting arrest when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that Scott was at a Sandys property on Thursday, where, according to the owner, he was “not welcome”.

Scott, from St George’s, shouted at police and broke one officer’s body camera when they arrived at the residence but he was eventually restrained and arrested.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered social inquiry, mental health, and drug-use reports for Scott and that he participate in mental health treatment court, beginning on November 30.
