Motorist banned and fined for drink-driving

A motorist who was stopped by police on St John’s Road, Pembroke, has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.

Antonia Tucker, 30, admitted drink-driving when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that officers doing routine vehicle searches stopped Tucker on December 29.

Police smelt alcohol on her breath and took her to Hamilton Police Station, where a breath test showed more than 130 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit for driving in Bermuda is 80mg/100ml.

In addition to being banned, Tucker was fined $1,500.
