Woman fined for colliding with bike in Devonshire

A woman who struck a bike in Devonshire was fined $800 in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Kristin Ahmed, 38, admitted driving her car without due care and attention when she appeared in court.

The court heard that Ahmed, from Devonshire, hit the back of the bike while turning from South Road onto Brighton Hill on July 28.

The car’s impact caused the motorist to fall off her bike and injure her ankle.

In addition to the fine, magistrate Maria Sofianos added ten points to Ahmed’s licence.
