Man involved in collision fined $1,000

A motorist who struck a car in Southampton was fined $1,000 in Magistrates’ Court last week.

Norman Gardener, 25, admitted driving his car without due care and attention when he appeared in court.

The court heard that Gardener, from Sandys, hit the back of the car near the entrance to Port Royal Golf Course on August 20.

Both vehicles were damaged and a passenger in the complainant’s car was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital after the incident.

In addition to the fine, magistrate Craig Attridge added several points to Gardener’s licence.
