Canadian stands trial for indecent act at Sandys resort

A Canadian allegedly performed an indecent act in front of a woman in November, Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 46-year-old man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, denies committing the act at Willowbank Resort, Sandys, as well as assaulting a man at the resort.

He appeared at Magistrates’ Court in December and faced trial on Friday for the offences.

The court heard from a woman, who said that she saw the man “moving his hands rapidly” inside his pants while in a common area of the resort on November 26.

The woman, who also cannot be named, told the court that the man was reportedly looking in the direction of her daughter and granddaughter while performing the act and told her that he “had an itch”.

The woman’s husband, who also testified in court, said that while his wife went looking for help, the defendant allegedly bumped him with his chest and put his hands on his shoulders before another man broke up the incident.

Police arrested the accused later that day.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case to February 23 and extended the man’s bail until that time. The trial continues.
