Woman with cannabis grinders at police station gets discharge

A woman caught with drug equipment at Hamilton Police Station has been given a conditional discharge in Magistrates’ Court.

Asah Robinson, 23, admitted having a large and a small cannabis grinder when she appeared in court this week.

The court heard that police found the items while searching Robinson’s handbag in January last year.

Robinson, who was at the station in connection with an unrelated matter at the time, told officers that she “forgot those were in” her bag.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sentenced Robinson, from Devonshire, to a six-month conditional discharge for the offences.
