Woman faces three charges of drug importation

A woman appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday to deny multiple charges of smuggling drugs into the island.

Statysa Hewitt Patterson pleaded not guilty to charges that she imported cannabis, cocaine and diamorphine, better known as heroin, to the island.

All three offences were said to have occurred between December 16 and December 18 2023.

Chief Justice Larry Mussenden remanded Ms Patterson until May 1, when the matter is scheduled to be mentioned before the Supreme Court again.
