Driver banned for refusing breath test
A man who repeatedly turned down police orders for a breath test has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Tyler Nearon, 34, admitted the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that police saw Nearon, from Devonshire, in a parked car on Devon Springs Road on September 1.
Officers took Nearon to Hamilton Police Station after smelling alcohol on his breath but he declined to provide a breath sample several times.
In addition to being banned, Nearon was fined $1,500 for the offence.
