A 21-year-old American man was charged with causing the death of Laquan Thomas while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Evan Weiner, from New Jersey, was accused in connection with a traffic incident on May 19 on Malabar Road in Sandys.

Mr Weiner was not required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable.

The court was told that his bail application remained pending.
