Bermudian accused of assaults and strangulation in UK

A 31-year-old Bermudian has appeared in a British court charged with two assaults and an intentional strangulation.

Gavaska Bascome is alleged to have attacked a woman on June 15 and 16 at a property in Coventry in the West Midlands, England.

He appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court last Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the two assault-by-beating charges, but has not entered a plea on the allegation of intentional strangulation.

Bascome was remanded in custody and his next hearing will be at Northampton Crown Court on July 30.
