A US visitor found with cannabis at LF Wade International Airport was fined $500 in Magistrates’ Court yesterday after admitted importing the drug into Bermuda.

The court heard that customs officers at the airport questioned Kevin Brown Jr, 29, after he arrived on the island from Newark, New Jersey, on September 2.

Brown was found with 27 grams, or less than one ounce, of cannabis in his luggage and was arrested.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin ordered Brown to pay the $500 before leaving Bermuda.
