A 21-year-old US foreign national has denied causing a death by driving while impaired.

Evan Weiner, from New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared in the Supreme Court’s arraignment session this morning.

The incident, which took place on Malabar Road in Sandys on May 19, was alleged to have led to the death of Laquan Thomas.

Puisne Judge Alan Richards adjourned the case until October 2 and extended Mr Weiner’s bail.
