Magistrate’s hands tied for 99km/h speeder

A man who sped at 99km/h was fined $500 in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Keshun Clarke, 21, admitted the offence when he appeared in court.

The Warwick resident committed the offence in Hamilton Parish on August 29 and told magistrate Auralee Cassidy that it happened when he was on his way to pick up a delivery.

Ms Cassidy ordered Clarke to pay the fine in full yesterday, added seven points to his driving licence and said she would have sentenced him to prison for going at that speed if she could.
