PHC on brink after defeat
Devonshire Rec, 165 for eight, beat PHC, 128 all out, by 37 runs.
Devonshire Rec pushed themselves closer to top flight safety with a 37-run victory over PHC at PHC Field yesterday, while leaving their hosts staring relegation square in the face.
The visitors batted first in a game reduced to 44 overs a side and posted a defendable 165 with veterans Herbie Bascome and Ricardo Brangman Snr leading the way.
Having been reduced to 72 for five, Bascome (38) and Brangman (40) then steadied the ship and saw their side to a respectable total.
Kevin Tucker and Keishon Wilson both took two wickets each, while Kamau Leverock, Cal Symonds and Cal Waldron all bagged one.
In reply, PHC were behind the eight ball for the majority of their innings, slumping to 47 for three before eventually being bolwed out for 128.
Leverock and Wilson top scored for PHC with 18 each, while Lamont Brangman grabbed three wickets to lead his side to victory.
