Leverock’s County shot

Kamau Leverock will get a chance to test himself against some of the better up and coming cricketers in England this week.The 16-year-old has been invited to play with Surrey second XI in a one day and three-day game against Somerset in Cardiff.Bermuda skipper David Hemp set up the opportunity for the PHC skipper, who will also train with Sussex while he is in the UK.Leverock warmed up for this week’s matches by playing in a second XI game for Surrey Championship side Dorking yesterday, in which he scored 94 and also took two wickets.The Dorking coaches were so impressed that he has been invited back to play for the first XI on Saturday.“I am very proud of him,” said mother Daun Leverock, “he’s starting to show his potential.”
