BC no-show gives Cavs a free pass

A second successive default by disgruntled BC Allrounders has pushed Spring Garden Cavaliers a step closer to completing a clean sweep of Commercial Cricket League titles this –season.Cavaliers, who have already won the Memorial Cup, league and Twenty20 League Cup titles, advanced to this Sunday’s Knockout Cup semi-finals after only a handful of BC Allrounders players turned up for last weekend’s preliminary round game at Shelly Bay.It was BC Allrounders’ third default of the season, having missed a league match early on.The club failed to show up the previous Sunday for a –rearranged League Cup semi-final against Jamaican –Association who went on to lose to Cavaliers in the final after the matches were washed out at Devonshire Rec a week earlier.Cavaliers now face North Village at Shelly Bay while Sunday’s other Knockout Cup semi-final is between Jamaican Association and defending champions Forties at Garrison Field. Both games start at 12.30pm.
