BCB promotes Schools Fair and Felsted trials

The Felsted Masterclass trials will be held at Berkeley Institute

The UK Schools Fair will be held at The Fairmont Southampton next Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. Once again the Bermuda Cricket Board will be working with the families of players, boys and girls, in the Academy programme to assist in creating opportunities for placements.

The BCB has already created a significant opportunity for Delray Rawlins at Bede’s and will be assisting further candidates.

The BCB has also partnered with Felsted School to provide an open opportunity for Cricket Masterclass trials for all interested young players from ages 11 to 17 on September 27 at Berkeley Institute from 11.30am to 2.30pm. The nets will be run by Jason Gallian, Felsted’s director of cricket and former England player. Interested persons can register with the BCB by calling 292-8958 or by sending an e-mail to info@cricket.bm.

“I would like to encourage all parents and players to attend the UK Schools Fair on September 24 and 25 at The Fairmont Southampton,” Lloyd Fray, the BCB president, said. “This is an excellent opportunity for parents and students to explore some of the fantastic academic, sporting and cultural opportunities some of these schools have available.

“A number of Bermuda’s elite cricketers, such as Delray Rawlins and Jordan Smith, have secured scholarships to be able to attend schools in which they get excellent academic education and cricket opportunities.”
