Bermuda open tournament against Americans

Bermuda return: DeSilva

Bermuda will open the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, against the United States on October 23.

The International Cricket Council released the schedule yesterday for the eight-day, round-robin tournament, which will have the six countries playing matches on three grounds, Kinrara, Bayeumas and Selangor Turf Club.

The tournament final will be played at Kinrara on October 30. The two finalists will gain promotion to Division Two. The Division three tournament was switched from Uganda last week because of safety concerns.

Uganda are one of the competing teams, along with Nepal, the US, Malaysia, Singapore and Bermuda.

Returning to the squad are Jordan DeSilva, the Somerset seam bowler and Del Hollis, the veteran st David’s spinner.

Bermuda will meet USA at Bayeumas Ground, followed by Nepal the next day. The final between the top two teams in the standings is scheduled for October 30.
