Bermuda’s match against Singapore in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament at the Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has been abandoned because of rain.

Singapore won the toss and managed to complete their innings, scoring 266 for eight from 50 overs, when heavy showers forced the umpires the call the game off.

The match will be replayed tomorrow, which had been set aside as a reserve day.

Bermuda, searching for their second successive win after defeating Malaysia by 37 runs on Sunday, claimed an early wicket when Rezza Gaznavi was dismissed for nought, caught by wicketkeeper Christian Burgess off the left-arm seam bowling of Jordan DeSilva.

Singapore were reduced to 31 for two when DeSilva picked up his second wicket, bowling Kshitij Shinde for seven before Arjun Mutreja and Anish Paraam set about amassing 209 runs for the third wicket.

Mutreja finally fell, caught by Tre Manders off Dion Stovell, whose spin also accounted for Pareem almost immediately to leave Singapore on 240 for four off 47.4 overs.

Singapore smashed 26 runs off the next 14 balls, with Stovell finishing as Bermuda’s top bowler with four for 53.

Janeiro Tucker, the Bermuda captain, also claimed a wicket, while Delray Rawlins, the young left-arm spinner bowled Bermuda’s most stingy spell, conceding just 16 runs off his ten overs.

In today’s other Division Three games, Malaysia defeated Uganda by four wickets, while United States’ match against Nepal was also abandoned because of rain.
