Treadwell Gibbons returned to Western Stars colours to score the season’s highest individual total, 166 not out, as Stars thrashed Tuff Dogs by 176 runs in the second round of the Central Counties on Saturday.

Gibbons, who recently left Stars to join Cleveland, was welcomed back as a guest player and justified his selection, batting the whole 55 overs after opening the batting with Jaiden Manders after champions Stars won the toss and scored 323 for eight. Brian Hall and Dion Stovell, another guest player, both scored 31 while Dalin Richardson contributed 29.

Jordan DeSilva, a guest player for Tuff Dogs, claimed six for 73 from 15 overs.

Tuff Dogs replied with 147 in 30.2 overs with veteran Dean Minors scoring 55 and guest player Derrick Brangman 25 while Justin Barritt added 19. Seth Campbell took five for 14 from 6.2 overs to lead the Stars bowling. Stars will play North Village in the final.
