St George’s trial switched

Tomorrow’s Cal Wade Memorial trial match between St George’s and Bailey’s Bay has been switched from Sea Breeze Oval to Wellington Oval because it clashed with a Junior Eastern Counties match at the same venue.

Lionel Cann, recovering from a knee injury, is included in the St George’s team for his first match of the season, while Brian Hall of St David’s is also included along with Charles Trott who is ineligible to play for Southampton Rangers in the first round of the Western Counties the same day. The match will start at 10am. Last weekend’s first trial match with St David’s was called off because of the rain.

Both Cup Match clubs are holding training sessions every Tuesday and Wednesday for the month of July, with the final trial matches held on July 28, the day the teams will be selected.
