Rawlins plays key role in Sussex win

Bermuda's Delray Rawlins scored 49 for Sussex Sharks on his T20 Blast debut

Delray Rawlins made a promising debut in the Vitality Blast Twenty20 competition after helping Sussex Sharks beat Middlesex by 12 runs last Thursday.

Rawlins, batting at No 4, was out caught one run shy of a half-century, his 49 coming off 35 balls, including one four and three sixes in the South Group match at Lord’s.

Barbadian Jofra Archer took a hat-trick in a thrilling last over, claiming the wicket of Eoin Morgan just as England’s white-ball captain threatened an unlikely victory for Middlesex with 90 off 56 balls, his top score in T20.

Archer then bowled John Simpson before trapping James Fuller leg before.

Rawlins also played in Sussex’s three-wicket defeat at home to Somerset today.

The left-handed batsman scored 18 off 14 balls before being stumped.
