Manders stars as he puts Rec in a spin

Western Stars beat hosts Devonshire by five wickets in a low scoring First Division Twenty20 contest at Devonshire Recreation Club yesterday.

Stars skittled their Central Counties rivals all out for 67 in 17.1 overs after winning the toss and sending them to bat.

Jaden Manders led the Stars attack with four for ten off just three overs while Rohan Davis and Phillip Thomas claimed two for eight and two for 15 respectively.

Wicketkeeper and middle order batsman Aljame Zuill (12) was the only Devonshire batsmen in double figures while there were 16 extras that included 11 wides.

Khiry Furbert, the Stars captain and wicketkeeper, led the run chase with 24 while opening batsman Seion Darrell chipped in with 22 at the top of the order.

Second change Dion Ball claimed three for 15 while Clay Darrell and Alafia Henry, the Devonshire captain, claimed the remaining wickets for the home side.

* Warwick were confortable winners over Somerset Bridge by 52 runs at Southampton Oval where early morning rain forced a late start and a reduction of the match to 16 overs per side.

Warwick scored 165 for one with Dominic Sabir the top bat with 86 not out while fellow opener, captain Staphen Dill scored 63. The pair put on 137 for the first wicket, with Sabir hitting five sixes and eight fours and Dill seven sixes and a four.

Bridge replied with 113 for four, with Jason Smith their top bat with 56 from eight fours and two sixes, and Shawn Riley 34 not out.
