Some of the island’s former cricket stars will roll back the years when Bermuda Masters celebrate their 20th anniversary with a cricket match at Sea Breeze Oval on Sunday.

The rival teams will be led by captain Andre “Doc” Manders and Sammy Robinson and will go up against each other in a 35 overs contest to start at noon.

Manders’ team consists of Charlie Marshall, Ricky Hill, Kyle Lightbourne, Ricky Brangman, Cal Dill Jr, Derek Wright, Gerald Bean, Barry Richards, Sheridan Ming, David Greenidge, Freston Hurdle, Rahji Edness, Leroy Wilson, Allen Richardson, David DeSilva and Cleveland Smith.

Robinson will lead an equally formidable team that consists of Clevie Wade, Herbie Bascome, Gladwin Edness, Reggie Tucker, Wendell White, Hassan Durham, George Cannonier, Aaron Adams, Craig Brangman, Vernon Eve, Grant Smith, Johnny Richardson, Winston Simmons, Hoyt Zuill, Curtis Jackson and Neil Anglin.

Organiser, Bermuda Masters founding member and player Zuill has high expectations for the upcoming event.

“I’m expecting a good turnout by the players and for all those who attend to have fun and enjoy themselves,” he told The Royal Gazette.

The Bermuda Masters was formed in 2006 and won the Antigua Independence 20/20 Cricket Festival on the Caribbean island the same year.

They have also competed in Barbados, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Hawaii and Costa Rica.
