Arrest made after gun was fired

A 31-year-old man was arrested after a gun was fired in St George’s yesterday.

A Police spokesman confirmed a gun was fired in the Old Military Road area around 12.20pm.

“Officers attended the scene and recovered evidence that a firearm had been discharged. However, no injuries were reported,” the spokesman said.

“Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or anyone with any information to contact St George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”
