Man arrested after van hits wall
A 43-year-old Pembroke man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, after a van crashed at 2am yesterday along Harbour Road, Paget.
According to police, the van, which was extensively damaged, struck a wall near the junction with Lovers Lane.
Meanwhile, witnesses are aiding police investigating the first road death of 2013, in which 51-year-old Andrew Penniston lost his life.
The fatal crash occurred just after midnight on Sunday, at the junction of Barker’s Hill with North Shore Road, Devonshire.
Other witnesses, or anyone with information on Mr Penniston’s whereabouts earlier that night, are asked to contact Pc Roger Fox at 247-1157.
Police also reported ten arrests for outstanding warrants over the weekend, plus a total of four for suspected impaired driving.
