Hamilton burglary attempt foiled by Police

At about 2.30am on Saturday, police officers on mobile patrol in the City of Hamilton were alerted to an apparent burglary of a business in the Church Street-Washington Lane area by a member of the public.

A 56-year-old Pembroke man located at the scene was arrested in connection with this matter and a court appearance is expected in due course.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the individual that directed officers to this incident for assistance.

Fifty minutes later on Saturday, first responders were dispatched to a reported single-vehicle motorcycle accident in the area of Crow Lane and the north roundabout in Pembroke.

It appears that the motorcycle was being ridden along Crow Lane at the time.

The rider, a 20-year-old Warwick man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of suspected head injuries and later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

A traffic collision investigator examined the scene and inquiries are continuing. Any witnesses to this accident should contact the main police telephone number, 295 0011.
