Inquiry after break-in video circulates
News Staff
Police have launched an investigation after a daylight burglary in St George's was caught on camera and shared on social media.
The news came just days after police announced that nearly two dozen homes in eight of the island's nine parishes had been burgled over the last two weeks.
Police said the latest incident happened at a home in St Luke's Lane on Tuesday.
As in most of the other recent break-ins, it happened in daylight hours.
A police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of the video and the incident has been reported to police.”
Three videos of the incident were posted to Facebook.
One showed a man wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt removing a window air conditioner before climbing into the house.
The other two show the same man, carrying a purple gym bag, leaving the house.
One of the videos shows him wearing what appear to be grey sweatpants.
Anyone with information on the St George's burglary, the other break-ins or suspicious activity should contact police on 247-1744.
