A 30-year-old man is in the Intensive Care Unit after a fight on Front Street outside the Cosmopolitan nightclub, which was broken up by police at about 3.15am yesterday.

Officers discovered a group surrounding two men fighting. It appears that the victim fell and may have struck his head on the pavement after being punched in the face.

A 25-year-old male suspect was arrested and is now in custody. The victim is said to be in critical condition.
