Police last night appealed to the public for information about a Boxing Day fight that broke out near the home of the victim of Wednesday night’s shooting.

A police spokesman said information on the disturbance could be vital to the firearms investigation.

The fight happened between 10.30am and 11am on Mount Hill Road, Pembroke.

The Bermuda Police Service also made a fresh appeal for information about the shooting, which happened on Mount Hill Road at about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim was said to be “stable” in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A police spokesman said: “The BPS continues to make inquiries into the shooting incident. The investigation is progressing and several lines of enquiry are being pursued. ”

He added that anyone with information that could help should contact Acting Detective Inspector Jason Smith, the lead investigator.

The spokesman said: “In particular, ADI Smith is appealing for area residents who have CCTV cameras as well as anyone who may have heard or seen a bike moments before the shooting with two persons, dressed in dark clothing, riding along Mount Hill Road to please get in contact with him.”

Mr Smith can be contacted at 717-0864 or by e-mail at jsmith2@bps.bm or use the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477.
