Police appeal for witnesses after man found with stab wounds

A man is being treated in hospital after a stabbing incident yesterday afternoon, police said.

Officers cordoned off a section of Union Street, near the Bermuda Industrial Union offices, earlier yesterday.

A spokesman for the police said: “Shortly after 1.30pm, police received a report of a male in the area of Union Street in the City of Hamilton, with a stab wound to the upper body.

“Officers responded and located the victim near the junction of Union Street and Dundonald Street bleeding from an apparent stab wound to the shoulder.

“He was attended to at the scene by EMTs and transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment to his injuries, the extent of which remains unknown at this time.”

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to call the non-emergency reporting number, 211 or the main police number 295-0011.
