Police find drugs and knife after arresting teenager

Police arrested a teenager who was found with drugs and a knife over the weekend.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that on Saturday, officers conducting traffic checks signalled for the 18-year-old, who was riding a bike, to stop at the junction of Union Street and Parsons Road.

Police followed him after he ignored their order and rode dangerously before abandoning his bike near Bull’s Head Car Park.

While searching the teenager, who tried to escape from the scene on foot, officers found several small twists containing suspected cannabis and cannabis resin, a scale, a quantity of cash and a knife.

The spokesman added: “A subsequent search of the man’s residence resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected controlled drugs, drug equipment and cash.

“The suspect is expected to appear before the courts in due course.”
