Police investigate possible firearms incident in Dockyard

Police have begun an investigation into a possible firearms incident reported yesterday afternoon in the West End.

A spokeswoman said that police were called to a residence in Dockyard shortly after 2pm.

Information suggested that a man wearing dark clothing entered the private residence and brandished what was believed to be a firearm.

The suspect then left the residence and rode off on a waiting motorcycle with another man.

Police searched the Somerset area and were alerted to a motorcycle on Bob’s Valley Road that was believed to have been linked to the incident.

They have asked anyone who may have seen the incident or the men, both dressed in dark clothing, to call them on 211.
