Renewed appeal for information on 2022 murders

Police make a fresh appeal for information about the murder of Laje Franklin, whose body was found shortly after 6.30am on April 6, 2022 (Photograph supplied)

Police again called for information about two fatal shootings in the East End more than four years ago.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said that investigations continued into the deaths of 18-year-old Laje Franklin, and Keyoshe Robinson, 22.

Mr Franklin’s body was discovered near the roundabout leading to Clearwater Beach in St David’s shortly after 6.30am on April 6, 2022.

He was understood to have been shot multiple times near where he was found.

A police spokesman said: “One person was initially arrested in connection with the 18-year-old’s murder and later released on police bail.”

He added that no other arrests had been made in connection with the incident but said an investigation remained active.

Detectives were thankful for the public’s assistance so far and were “confident that there are individuals who have knowledge of the circumstances” behind the killing.

Police continued to appeal for anyone who heard suspicious noises, or saw suspicious activity in the area of Tommy Fox Road, or near the Gulfstream residences at Southside, between 11pm the night before and the early hours of April 6, to contact them.

Mr Robinson was last seen alive in St George at about 10pm on May 3, 2022.

He was reported missing at 5pm on May 4 and his body was found with multiple gunshot wounds, near the 10th hole of the St George’s Golf Club.

At the time, Mr Robinson was wearing a dark-coloured puffy vest, grey sweatpants, a grey hoodie with black rings around the cuffs and white sneakers.

The spokesman said: “Detectives are still seeking assistance from anyone who may have seen or heard anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem, particularly in or around the St George’s Golf Club, or nearby areas, during the relevant time.

“BPS investigators are also interested in speaking with anyone who knew of Mr Robinson’s movements leading up to his murder.”
